Module overview
Complete this project to design and prototype a custom insert that secures a dial caliper in its case. Use your beginner-to-intermediate CAD skills and knowledge to create a 3D model using sketches, modify the model, analyze interferences, and 3D print the completed project. As a final challenge, modify the final design to accommodate a digital display-style caliper.
After completing this project, you’ll be able to:
- Design a customizable solid model using 2D sketches.
- Set up and use parameters, dimensions, and geometric constraints.
- Apply fillets to solids.
- Analyze interference between solids and interpret the results to make adjustments.
- Prepare the model for 3D printing.
