Description
The 65,000-square-meter (70,000-square-foot) offices of Ilot Fontenoy-Ségur (IFS)—located in the heart of Paris’s 7th arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower—is a major renovation project for the French government. The client’s most notable requirement is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) model with facility-management capabilities. Our team at VINCI Construction France is currently in charge of BIM management for this project, which includes providing Revit software templates for architecture, structure, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) to all stakeholders. We also ensure the training of all the project members involved and the review of all models according to a predefined BIM-guideline set up in partnership with the facility manager (data codification, levels of details, and information). In addition to Revit software, we also used Revit software’s API and BIMLink to quickly implement information. All the 3D models are used during the current construction phase for 3D coordination, quantity takeoffs, drawings, and on-site communication with our building workers.
