This class is the next level up from the “Structural Design to Fabrication: Revit and Advance Steel—Buddies for Life” class at Autodesk University 2020. Once you have designed, simulated, and generated the fabrication drawings, the next step is making them available to the field teams. On top of that, tracking the changes and ensuring the site teams have access to the latest documentation is one of the main challenges. This class will focus on the various office-to-field workflows you can use to share the latest and greatest structural BIM (Building Information Modeling) data and fabrication drawings with the extended teams in the field. You will learn about the Autodesk Docs workflows that come in the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection that you can use to share and compare different versions of structural BIM data and fabrication drawings for effective decision-making processes in the field. This class will also cover the process of creating and managing issues related to structural field workflows.

This class will be delivered by Hill Construction, a U.K.-based housebuilder, supported by Topcon Corporation and Autodesk, Inc. Hill Construction will describe its Building Information Modeling (BIM) journey so far, and how the firm has applied BIM 360 tools into its workflows on a complex construction project undertaken by Hill Bespoke in Cambridge, England. The class will cover how using a variety of mass-data capture techniques to gather as-built documentation combined with integrated on-site verification and management has improved efficiencies and reduced errors using innovative new workflows. Hill will describe the impact of these new workflows incorporating software (including BIM 360 Field cloud service, BIM 360 Layout cloud service, BIM 360 Glue cloud service, and BIM 360 Docs cloud service) integrated with Topcon mass-data capture and layout solutions, and the efficiencies gained over traditional methods. We will show content and examples from the historically important housebuilding project combining both complex renovation with new-build processes. Governments across the world realize that inconsistent standards and practices are leading to huge inefficiencies and are mandating that these processes are adhered to. Unforeseen events like Covid have exposed how quickly things can change and we’ve have had to learn the hard way that the industry needs to be better prepared for the future. The need for a robust and powerful CDE solution is now more important than ever. Autodesk Docs provides comprehensive capabilities for managing construction records through their entire life cycle and it’s all in the cloud! In this class we will demonstrate how document controllers can manage and optimize the document management process, handle the review, exchange, and distribution of project drawings, models, all while maintaining a consistent naming standard.

With the redesign of the start tab in AutoCAD 2022 software, users can easily access project data in the cloud using Autodesk Docs and Desktop Connector for Autodesk Docs. However, not everyone knows where to start. This session will cover the essentials of how to get started and be comfortable when collaborating with AutoCAD. You'll learn how to work efficiently, maximize project performance, and navigate issues when they occur.

In this class, we'll begin at the beginning, and look at how anyone can get started with Autodesk Construction Cloud. Come and see how the platform is more than just a construction tool for organizing and sharing project data. We'll look at Autodesk Docs software and see how it may be used as a common data environment (CDE) that follows ISO 19650 procedures and respects the information management method defined in the standards. With Autodesk BIM Collaborate and Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro, we can work collaboratively with Autodesk Construction Cloud. Also, we’ll take a look at Autodesk Build software's toolset for the management of all of our project information, as well as Autodesk Takeoff software's real-time estimation view.

The rupture of the dam in Ayrton Senna Park in Brazil impaired one of the few tourist attractions in a small town in the Brazilian countryside, generating significant social and environmental impact. Schettini Engenharia understood that for this atypical situation, it would be necessary to bring together some strategic partners to develop the entire building information modeling (BIM) solution with the help of geographic information system (GIS) solutions, starting the first smart-city project in the region. Using Autodesk and Innovyze solutions, the firm aimed to adopt sustainable practices in its proposal, mitigating part of the damage caused by the rupture of this dam, and bringing safety and better quality of life to this community. This class will demonstrate the implementation of a powerful common data environment—using Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 platforms combined with an application developed in Autodesk Forge—for the management of hospital project data. The Grand Paris North Hospital project is intended to be the largest hospital in Paris, France, and was designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Brunet Saunier Architecture. We’ll use this project to explain the implementation of data workflows in order to build optimized circuits that involve all project stakeholders, planners, the owner, users, architects, and all the engineers’ firms with Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro and Autodesk Docs (design collaboration, model coordination, and issues management). More than 100 people! We’ll show how a connected Autodesk Forge application will collect data from Autodesk Construction Cloud in order to push automation processes in data analysis and deliverables creation. We’ll do a live demonstration of this real Autodesk Forge-based BIM data checker enabling data processes throughout the project lifecycle, from plan to operation.

With 15 km of metro line and 15 stations developed in Sao Paulo, Line 6 is the largest public-private infrastructure project under development in Latin America, and one of Acciona’s largest projects. Resuming it has its challenges: the size of the project, its complex and diverse city setting, the large network of stakeholders, and the extra challenge of a contract resumed after several years of being on hold. Building information modeling (BIM) had been implemented across most disciplines, allowing a smooth restart helped by point clouds and our topographers providing daily feedback to our engineering team. Autodesk Docs software as a common data environment (CDE) has helped us to achieve the transversality of information. It has become a key tool for regarding project review, design interface, and constructability solutions. In the time of a pandemic, Autodesk Construction Cloud has facilitated the coordination and collaboration between different teams and countries, ensuring that key stakeholders have access to the latest data, anytime and anywhere.

Dublin Airport is due to complete its €1.8 billion, five-year capital investment program in 2024. With 140+ live projects currently being delivered on the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has now onboarded 200+ supplier companies to work in its Connected Data Platform. DAA has adopted a digital-first mindset and this session will explore how the in-house Information management team has enabled an extensive cross-functional ecosystem to work in collaboration and deliver excellence at Dublin Airport. The scope of works covers piers, terminals, airfield works, and baggage systems with Dublin Airport using Autodesk technology, ISO-compliant workflows, and digital delivery best practices to break down silos and deliver quality data directly into their operational systems. This session will explore the strategy and approach taken to tango with 200+ companies and thousands of stakeholders.

With the advancement in pre-construction technology and enhancements in the Model Coordination product on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), we can now take a massive step toward delivering fully coordinated construction models. This will ensure the quality of construction and reduce the wastage of construction materials. The key factor in delivering fully coordinated construction models is a closed-loop clash management system that allows stakeholders to identify and address potential clashes early in the project lifecycle. This results in reduced risks of delays and cost overruns, thus increasing project efficiency and enhancing project quality. In this lab, you will learn about automated clash detection using Model Coordination. You will get hands-on experience with the "closed-loop" end-to-end issue management system, supported by notifications so the users can be notified when you create clash issues. Finally, you will learn how to close the loop by resolving the clashes and changing the issue status to reflect the clash resolution.

As a virtual design and construction (VDC) manager for a general contractor (GC), one of the largest headaches is making sure your subcontractors get their models uploaded to your Autodesk Construction Cloud hub on time, and that they're named correctly and in the right format to make Model Coordination work seamlessly. What if it didn't have to be that way? If your subcontractors also happened to be working in Autodesk Construction Cloud, it doesn't have to be. What if they just published their own models internally and all the sharing happened automatically? This class will cover how to use the Bridge tool in Autodesk Construction Cloud to enable automatic sharing of models between Autodesk Construction Cloud hubs to streamline model coordination. Not only will we cover how to share models from the subcontractor's hub to the GC hub and then on into your coordination NWF, but we'll also show you how to share models from one subcontractor to another to enable direct coordination between subcontractor Revit models.

This presentation will detail how Clayco has used the "Punch as You Build" process to streamline the usage of checklists and issues for quality-control tracking within the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform (BIM 360 and Autodesk Build). We'll not only cover how we've standardized issue types and subtypes across the enterprise (from early design to construction and even warranty), but also how we employ standard checklist and issue workflows across our 100+ concurrent projects. Furthermore, our presentation will demonstrate the benefits of standardization in developing and identifying enterprise-level, high-risk quality trends and solutions. We'll highlight the functionality and value of this process through the success one of our Clayco project teams had from implementing a culture of quality with the "Punch as You Build" process.

In this session, we will present the latest status of Autodesk Construction Cloud APIs, discussing those that have recently been added and those that we expect to release in the near future.

Sabesp is the largest sanitation company in the Americas and one of the largest in the world. It is responsible for water supply and sewage collection in 375 municipalities, serving 28+ million people. The company's large numbers are accompanied by complex challenges. This presentation will explore the experience of an ambitious corporate building information modeling (BIM) implementation program, in its first wave of implementation. This implementation has as one of its main objectives the development of and access to asset information with a focus on commissioning. The program is in its second year of implementation, and you'll be able to check the advances obtained in themes that include: development of libraries and templates, development of unified processes for the use of a common data environment [Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Docs, and Autodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge)], GeoBIM integration (Autodesk and Esri/GE SmallWorld), and BIM and ERP (SAP) integration. The entire technology base used in this implementation is supported by Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection from Autodesk.

Technology in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is changing rapidly. To keep up with this accelerated pace, VHB is stating that our default design practice will be model-based design (MBD) by 2025. This means training 800+ Civil 3D users in more-automated, connected, and advanced workflows. We recognize that to create this large-scale shift we need to train a generation of innovative and inspiring coaches to help guide others through this change. Advanced MBD Training was created to mold 10% of our Civil 3D users into MBD Project Coaches. As MBD Project Coaches, they'll be expected to advance MBD from automating processes to creating more-efficient workflows. The training will focus not only on our core tool, Civil 3D, but it will also include Dynamo, InfraWorks software, Subassembly Composer, Grading Optimization, ArcGIS Connector, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Twinmotion. This session will walk through how we built and implemented this program to accelerate change at VHB.
